FALMOUTH
Falmouth is located at the mouth of the river Fal, on the Southern coastline
of Cornwall. It is probably most famous for hosting the world's third
largest deep water natural harbour. Falmouth also has a very important
working docks. Also the mild climate of the river Fal produces perfect
oyster beds and is an important for the oyster fisheries' Industry.
The maritine Industry in Falmouth has celebrations throughout the year with
festivals and regattas.
Tourism has become one of the most important Industries in Falmouth, popular for it's sandy beaches.The beautiful harbour and sandy beaches make it a very popular holiday resort destination.
Some of the most popular beaches in Falmouth are Gyllyngvase beach, which has great views of Pendennis castle, Trefuis beach which has nice views of the town, Swanpool beach and Maenporth beach which is a good beach for the family.
Falmouth's shopping streets lies close to the waterfront, linking the harbour with restaurants, cafes, art galleries, and many other popular shops. The beaches are within walking distance of the town centre, which offer watersports and safe family bathing.
Falmouth has many boat trips available, including a return trip to Truro on the river Fal. There is also a road train that runs in the Summer months from Falmouth to some of the beaches and also to the famous Pendennis castle.
