PADSTOW
Padstow is located on the Camel Estuary, near Wadebridge on the North coast of Cornwall. This beautiful fishing port has recently been made more famous by the television chef Rick Stein and his food programmes. Rick Stein has several restaurants in Padstow including The Seafood Deli, Rick Stein's cafe and The Seafood restaurant.
Padstow has several high standard art galleries and are well worth a visit. The
busy harbour in Padstow is used by many fishing boats, and the Marina
is home to some beautiful boats. There is a regular ferry service to
Rock and is used by locals and tourists.
For a fishing port of it's size, Padstow has a lot of shops, including gift shops, galleries, art/craft shops and many more. There are also some supermarkets just outside the town centre.
There are several surfing beaches near Padstow, including Treyarnon Bay, Porthcothan Bay, and Trevone. There is also an excellent surfing school at Harlyn Bay.
If you like playing Golf, there are some excellent golf courses near Padstow. If you fancy a boat or sailing trip, there is a wide choice in the harbour. Also available for the energetic tourist, there are plenty of watersports.
The local museum in Padstow includes local history and maritime facts. An entertaining family day out is a visit to Macdonald's Farm, which is very popular for the younger children.
