REDRUTH

Redruth is a town located in Cornwall, in the United Kingdom The town has a population of around fifteen thousand, and is situated near the junction of the A3047 and A393 roads.

Redruth lies about nine  miles (14 km) West of Truro, the capital city. Redruth and Cambourne form the largest urban areas in the county and before local government reorganisation were an Urban District, before the local government re-organised it.

Large outlets within Redruth include the Cornish Studies centre, a multi-screen cinema, a covered market, supermarkets, antique shops and many more.

Redruth jointly won the annual UK town centre environment awards in 2007, which are run by the BCSC. The judges were impressed with the large amount of work that had been done to Redruth, with landscaping the central area.

Redruth is one of the major transport hubs in Cornwall, with the train station which is a railhead for the Lizard and Helston. There is a frequent bus service connecting these 3 places. The train station is served by trains running from Northern England, the Midlands and Paddington.

Redruth is close to the A30 main road through Cornwall, and has access to the main route out of Cornwall, and also routes to South East and North Cornwall.

The A393 road bisects Redruth in a North/South direction, and links the A30 with the seaside port of Falmouth. The A3047 links the town with Cambourne.
